Do you remember the times that you have decided to attempt something, but just given up?

Your attempt the process, but it just gets too hard?

How many times have you said to yourself, that you will leave it for another time?

The sad truth is that most of us give up too soon.

Steve Jobs at Apple, imagine if he had given up, yet, he faced so many obstacles but never gave up.

Yet he became one of the world’s greatest winners.

Why do people give up?

1. You hear “you can’t do it.”

There may be a point in your lifetime where somebody has said that you can’t do something… you believed them.

Next time you hear these words, remember those who heard the same words, many times but succeeded against all odds.

Winston Churchill, Arnold Swarzenegger, Steve Jobs all proved that discouraging words have no power.

2. Your life is good enough already.

This does sound a little strange, but the better your life is the more temptation there is to leave things as they are. When things get hard, you may tend to go back to how things were.

It can always get better, no matter how good your life currently is. So next time you feel like giving up, think about those parts of your life you do not like and think about improving on them.

3. Lacking self-confidence.

If you want to make a big, positive change in your life, it will need self-belief. If you are doubting your capability to succeed, you will want to give up. A great tip that I use if I am feeling low, and my self-confidence needs a boost is that I write all the things that I possess, skills, knowledge, experiences and other assets.

We all can write down lots of great things about ourselves, you can too!

4. Lack of focus.

Inspiration in today’s world, there is so much going on, that you seem to forget about focusing on those key things.

So, next time you decide to spend time with your friends, or you have your boss calling you to talk about a job related issue. Not, keeping focus on those goals will lead to ineffective results.

Next time you want to stay focused, switch off that T.V, switch off your phone and create time instead.

5. You want results now.

In today’s world, the majority of people want stuff now, like a physical transformation, anything worthwhile takes time.

Just remember, the more you keep attacking your goals, the sooner you will be able to reach them.

6. Motivation, inspiration, enthusiasm, well lack of.

When you get started on a project, changes or initiative, you are full of enthusiasm right? You feel motivated.

But, as things start to slow down, that enthusiasm that you had, will start to cool down. It was not as easy as you thought it would be, so you start to lose inspiration. Then start letting things falter.

When that happens, go back to the beginning and remember what you felt like. What was motivating you? What was inspiring you? And then focus on those feelings.

7. Dream? Maybe not.

When you first started the project, it was just a sudden wish. Then you realized it took hard work, time, patience and sacrifices.

Sit yourself down and then evaluate those dreams, are they still worth it?

If they are not worth it, then you have not given up. You have just realised that you’re heading in the wrong direction. If you need to, redefine those dreams,

Revisit those ideas and get back on track with what truly excites you.

8. Miss being comfortable.

Before you started on this new project, you was used to your daily routines and you were comfortable. This brand new thing is making you uncomfortable, that struggle, you miss that comfort zone.

But, remember, if you ever feel like this and it’s tempting to turn back and return, think about it this way, when you have reached your goal, you’re where you want to be, a new comfort zone for you will be created. Then keep going forwards and upwards.

9. That’s a stupid idea.

Well, I am getting old now, it will be silly to start something new, you think following that dream concept is not realistic. People think that’s it’s not serious and you should stop being so childish.

Whatever opinion people think, it’s their business, not yours. Be prepared for what they will say, when you get there.

10. It should be easy.

Everybody likes the easy way, giving up is the easiest thing that you can do. You don’t have to put in any more effort, no more time required. Giving up will mean that the problems related to that will go away.

If you have that dream, that project, don’t listen to people if they are saying negative feedback. Instead, talk to those who will encourage you and will be interested in you succeeding.

Have confidence and believe in yourself.

Don’t give up, if you’re reading this blog post, you clearly are looking for ways to stay winning.

If you start something new, make sure that you want it bad enough. Make sure it’s your dream, and your passion.

If it is, then motivation, inspiration, enthusiasm will stay by your side along the way.

You will then be patient enough and not be discouraged by the lack of immediate results.

If your dream is strong enough, then, you will not look for the easy way out.
