If I ask you, when have you had time to think about yourself? Your life goals? What do you want to accomplish in life? Yes, we do have busy lives, but when we are not busy, we tend to sit down on our sofa and put on the telly while checking our social media feeds.
Do it now, it will only take you 10-20 minutes.
You may already know, what you want to do, you just need to write it down. You may have done this before, just has been a while since they were updated. Why don’t we do it now!
1. Your funeral, what would you want people to say about you?
This comes from Steven Coveys ‘7 Habits of highly effective people’- the habit called “begin with the end in mind.” This actually is very effective because, imagine you are at the end of your life, you look back, what would you have likely accomplished? What kind of person have you been?
Key: Start living a life that will eventually get you to that point.
2. Now, write down some little goals that you would like to do before you die.
They can be professional, education, spiritual, travel, recreation, hobby’s, charity, there are plenty to think about and you don’t need goals in all these areas, just a few topics to get you started.
3. Narrow and expand on them.
After that initial thinking of ideas, you might want to narrow them down, or, create a big dream.
4. Break them down,
What do you want to accomplish in the next 10 years? The next 5 years? Or 2 years? Even a year or a month.
Break them down and start planning.
5. You have to do it.
Ok, my monthly goals, I like to have a plan for when I do them and I always think to myself, once they are done, I am a step closer to making those dreams I have, a reality.
Write your goals down today and take a step closer to your dreams.
